„Books aren’t just for reading; they’re beautiful objects, like plants, or rugs. There are rooms in which it feels uncomfortable when they’re absent, like a bedroom without a bed, a kitchen without a sink.

But the beauty of books is not simply aesthetic. We need to know we could read them if we wanted to, even if we won’t. Standing in front of a well-stocked bookshelf belongs to the same spectrum of experiences as standing and gazing out to the sea – an actual sea, not a fake sea.“
